ASCD Board Members Visit Singapore

Twenty-five board members from ASCD International arrived in Singapore for a week-long visit from 3rd to 9th August. They had a busy week visiting MOE, NIE, a selection of schools and other educational institutions. Accompanied by their spouses, the board members also managed to squeeze in a ride on the Singapore Flyer and a trip to the Night Safari. Below are some highlights of their trip. Enjoy!

ASCD Council Members Receive National Day Awards

Four Council members received National Day awards this year. Topping the list is past president, Mr Tan Yap Kwang who received the Public Administration Service medal (Gold).

President-Elect Dr Koh Thiam Seng and past Council member, Miss Chiang Wai Leng received the Public Administration Service medal (Silver).

Council member and current Secretary of ASCD, Mrs Saraspathy Menon, received the Public Administration Service medal (Bronze).

ASCD Annual Conference, New Orleans, March 15th to 17th

ASCD Council members Tay Siew Lian, Jimmy Tan, Lysia Kee, Saraspathy Menon and Ow Suek Yin represented Singapore at the ASCD conference at New Orleans.

Past president and ASCD Board member, Betsy Lim,  presented as Chair of the World-wide Influence Study Team. Their report to the Board identified areas for action for the Association in the future and was accepted unanimously.

ASCD International Visits Singapore  

Members of ASCD International visited Singapore in February and met up with Council members. ASCD Board members will be holding their Board meeting in August here, and this was a preliminary planning trip.
